Alfonso Colocho was born in 1953 in Delgado Village, San Salvador. At the age of sixteen he entered the San Salvador School of Fine Arts where he studied for three years under the instruction of Spanish artist Valero Lecha. He came to California in 1977 and started commissioned mural work for area hospitals. He furthered his artistic education by attending the Otis Art Institute, as well as the Los Angeles Trade Technical College where he studied under Mario Rueda for five years. For twelve years he has worked as a pictorial artist for Gannett Outdoor where they helped him become a famous tall wall artist and create his own business named Arteck. Colocho is an Artist Member of the California Art Club.
