The Tea and Coffee Service
Four-piece German late 19th century/early 20th century silver 800, tea and coffee service in the Rococo style, comprised of a teapot, coffeepot, creamer and lidded sugar bowl. All pieces feature a gilded interior. Silver 800, around 1300g Teapot: Height: 25 cm Diameter: 21.5 cm Coffeepot: Height: 28 cm Diameter: 23 cm Creamer: Height: 13 cm Diameter: 12.5 cm Sugar bowl: Height: 18 cm Diameter: 6.2 cm Each individual piece from the service is stamped with the following hallmarks: 1. maker’s mark for Bruckmann & Söhne 'symbol of an eagle', 2. the moon 3. the crown for German silver, the 3 fineness for silver “800” 4. vendor’s mark “E. Goldschmidt” with 5. a star.

About the silver company: The “Silberwarenfabrik Peter Bruckmann & Söhne” is one of the oldest and most renowned silver manufactures of Germany. It was founded in 1805 by Georg Peter Bruckmann '1778-1850' in Heilbronn. Bruckmann & Söhne participated in many national and international exhibitions, such as the 1873 Vienna exhibition, the 1885 Nuremberg exibition, received a Gold Medal, the 1896 Stuttgart exhibition and the 1900 Paris exhibition.
